Set up a scheduled digest
A digest is a round-up an engineer posts to a Slack channel on a schedule: what finished, what's waiting on someone or blocked, open pull requests and failing CI, how the Jira sprint stands, and the decisions and open questions from that channel since the last digest. The Delivery Manager is the natural author, but any engineer can write one.
- In Slack, invite the YourEngineers app to the channel it should post to (
/invite @YourEngineers). - Settings → Scheduled digests: choose who writes it, the channel, how often (weekdays, every day, or once a week on a day), the time and the time zone. Add digest.
- Run now posts one straight away to check it (its schedule doesn't change). Pause, Resume and Delete are on each digest. A digest that was skipped (out of credit, the engineer busy or retired) or failed says why under it. Each run is charged like any other work. A digest only reads: it never changes Jira, comments, or opens anything.
If the channel list says the Slack app needs reinstalling, an owner reinstalls it once (Integrations → Slack) so it can read channels.
